We could not be more excited to share the coffee from our farm in Pijao Colombia! 

This is a washed-process coffee, which means the beans were fermented in a wash station for about 24 hours to remove the mucilage before drying. This leads to a clean cup quality.

This is a medium-dark roast, rich and delicious with tasting notes of orange marmalade and dark chocolate.

Shipping & Returns

We roast in small batches twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, so your coffee is always fresh.  If there is a lag between your order date and shipping date that is due to needing to wait until the next roast date to fulfill your order.

We offer flat rate $5 standard shipping in the continental US for one 12 oz bag, $7.50 for two 12oz bags, and free shipping for orders over $48.  Standard shipping should arrive 3-4 days after shipping. 

We currently do not ship internationally, but may add that in the future.  We will post that here when available.

For expedited shipping we charge the cost of the shipping, which will be available at checkout.

Coffee is a perishable prioduct, and we roast to order, so we do not offer returns or exchange. If, however, your coffee arrives damaged or you receive the wrong order, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can make it right! info@appliedartscoffee.com

Care Instructions

We roast twice a week, and recommend you order less coffee more frequently to enjoy always fresh coffee. We do offer grinding your order, but we recommend that you order whole bean and grind within 15 minutes of brewing for optimum freshness, if possible.

ON THE NOSE!

I just ran 900g of water, at ~85 Celsius, through 50g on a Hario V60-3. I ground the beans at 18 clicks on my chestnut hand grinder.

30 second bloom followed by 3 pours. Total draw down right at 4 mins (I mean like it stopped dripping at 3.56).

I had to get a coworker (former barista) to double check the taste. He confirmed my findings, 'Damn good cup of coffee!'

I think I came really close to unlocking the full potential of these beans!

I may be biased because I met the owner of the coffee plantation where this coffee is grown in Columbia. He explained how he grows and processes the coffee to me and I ordered some because it sounded like so much care went into the farming and production.

When I received and brewed it, I was blown away. The roasting level is perfect, dark enough to taste like roasted coffee instead of coffee beans steeped in hot water, but not so dark the regional flavors don't come through. Those regional flavors are lovely and make me feel like I am drinking the perfect cup of coffee on vacation in another part of the world.

I miss when the roasters were in my city and I could get the beans within a day of roasting, but I can accept waiting the time it takes for the postal service to deliver it from New Orleans.
