We are excited to introduce this Papua New Guinea Single Origin coffee from our friends  at Benchmark Coffee Traders. This coffee has a particularly clean cup quality for a PNG, owing to the special Kula processing/ cherry selection employed by Benchmark Coffee Traders.

We decided on a light roast for this coffee, bringing out a medium-light body, with tasting notes of pink lemonade, cantaloupe & cedar.

This coffee works best brewed as a pour over or drip.

Notes on the producer from our importer for this coffee, Benchmark Coffee Traders:

All coffee bearing the Bunum Wo name is grown at over 4500 feet elevation. Bunum Wo considers soil and water conservation as a priority and the estate is bird and eco-friendly. Bunum Wo employs a medium density shade strategy, using two types of shade trees. This promotes even ripening of coffee cherries and provides habitat for at least 90 species of birds.

Bunum Wo is a washed Arabica coffee that undergoes a rigorous wet factory process. Quality Control begins in the field; Cherries are hand-picked and carefully checked for uniformity; it must be red and fully ripe which allows for the correct balance of sugar and acid within the cherry. This selected cherry is then pulped on the day of picking.

A fermentation process follows, a period of three days broken every 24 hours by washing – but unlike many other coffees, the Bunum Wo process follows this by total immersion in water for a further day. This balances the flavors. After sun-drying, the coffees are carefully condi- tioned for 21 days. This is followed by destoning, hulling, grading, densometric sorting, color sorting, and finally hand sorting.

Shipping & Returns

We roast in small batches twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, so your coffee is always fresh.  If there is a lag between your order date and shipping date that is due to needing to wait until the next roast date to fulfill your order.

We offer flat rate $5 standard shipping in the continental US for one 12 oz bag, $7.50 for two 12oz bags, and free shipping for orders over $48.  Standard shipping should arrive 3-4 days after shipping.

We currently do not ship internationally, but may add that in the future.  We will post that here when available.

For expedited shipping we charge the cost of the shipping, which will be available at checkout.

Coffee is a perishable prioduct, and we roast to order, so we do not offer returns or exchange. If, however, your coffee arrives damaged or you receive the wrong order, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can make it right! info@appliedartscoffee.com

Care Instructions

We roast twice a week, and recommend you order less coffee more frequently to enjoy always fresh coffee. We do offer grinding your order, but we recommend that you order whole bean and grind within 15 minutes of brewing for optimum freshness, if possible.
